What a great surprise we had last night.

The Waterview Motel was full and everyone had checked-in, so we decided to take ourselves out for dinner. The venue of choice was The Rocky Mouth Bistro at the RSL. We took a table by the windows and watched the sun setting over the mighty Clarence River. That was a magnificent sight, only topped by the pod of dolphins that chose this exact moment to swim past and entertain the crowd with a few jumps and flips. Probably chasing a school of river prawns, their dinner!

We ordered from the special menu, 2 for the price of 1 on this fine Wednesday evening and had a cold beverage while we waited for our meals to arrive. Even though it was quite busy, it didn’t take long before we had our plates in front of us. Grilled fresh snapper for 2, a lovely juicy and tender pork schnitzel for 1, and a tasty, juicy chicken schnitzel for the 4th person in our party. The meals were great.

It has been a while since we last dined at the Rocky Mouth Bistro and we had forgotten how lovely it was. The great setting, on the banks of the Clarence River, the tasty and fresh meals and best of all, the great service from all of the staff at the Club. Altogether a great surprise.
